Complying Development is a fast tracked approval for various residential, commercial and industrial building work or change of use. A Complying Development Certificate (CDC) can be issued by Council or a Private Certifier if the development meets specific criteria outlined in State Environmental Planning Policy (Exempt and Complying Development Codes) 2008.
In short, a CDC can give you development approval in a number of days rather than months. This is becoming the preferred method of undertaking renovations, building new dwellings, change of use, commercial fit outs, or industrial building works as Councils are becoming increasingly difficult to deal with while DA processing times are getting longer and longer. There is no political obstacles from local lynch mobs, difficult neighbours or angry Councillors.
